This was an exciting period in Hungarian military history largely characterized by the defense or breaching of castle walls. Our animated film explores the curiosities of the castle wars.
In collaboration with the Military History Institute and Museum, our animated film reveals, among other things, the purpose of trenches during a 16th-century city siege, why siege ladders were not useful (and why they were not used as often as one might think based on movies), the theory and practice of defense, and what siege devices attackers might have used.
