At the end of World War I, the disintegration of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire pushed Hungary into a series of armed conflicts. Seven states used both military force and diplomacy to break away from Hungary.
The animated film created for the permanent exhibition of the Trianon Museum in Várpalota shows Hungary’s precarious situation and its desperate defensive struggles between 1918 and 1921. It uses animated maps, informative infographics, and evocative battle scenes, largely from the attackers’ perspective.
