Sappers
During the Turkish era, the warring factions in Hungary mainly engaged in siege warfare rather than open battles. Sappers and their mines played a key role in this.
Mines were the most reliable tools for demolishing fortress walls, and siege warfare was characterized by vast amounts of earthwork rather than forests of siege ladders. We designed 3D sapper figures for a diorama showcasing this and capturing their distinctive movements. The printed figures are now part of the exhibition’s diorama.
